{"id":372563,"date":"2026-09-25T14:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T09:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=372563"},"modified":"2026-09-25T14:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T09:28:09","slug":"onescd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/onescd\/","title":{"rendered":"OneSCD"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-box-green\">\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> India co-hosted the launch of OneSCD on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) in New York.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\">About OneSCD<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 174px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/HS87ai0bcAEluE9?format=webp&amp;name=large\" alt=\" OneSCD\" width=\"174\" height=\"309\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>OneSCD<\/strong> is a <strong>Global Partnership <\/strong>to advance <strong>equity and transform Sickle Cell Care.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is a<strong> multistakeholder and multisectoral global partnership<\/strong> established to coordinate existing efforts and support country-led action on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/gene-therapy-for-sickle-cell-disease-scd\/\">Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hosted by:<\/strong> It has been launched at high level event held during the<strong> 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81)<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>It is <strong>hosted by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and co-hosted by India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The initiative brought together partners <strong>including the Government of Nigeria, WHO, UNICEF, Africa CDC, the World Coalition on Sickle Cell Disease and St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Features<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It will <strong>bring together government leaders, UN agencies, health experts, civil societ<\/strong>y, and <strong>people with lived experience. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Partnership <strong>aims<\/strong> to:\n<ul>\n<li data-section-id=\"p17bhi\" data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"604\"><strong data-start=\"508\" data-end=\"559\">Build global consensus and standardized targets<\/strong> for SCD and strengthen political commitment.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"mz8lkr\" data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"802\"><strong data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"677\">Support countries in integrating SCD into national health systems<\/strong>, including primary healthcare, Universal Health Coverage, NCD and maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health strategies.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"gtzs6w\" data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"1062\"><strong data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"857\">Mobilize sustainable financing and partnerships<\/strong> to expand newborn screening, diagnosis, essential medicines, safe blood supplies, patient registries, health information systems, and comprehensive lifelong SCD care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;
