MoSD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>WorldSkills Competition<\/strong> is the<strong> world\u2019s biggest international skills competition<\/strong>, bringing together<strong> young people, industry, education and government leaders<\/strong> from around the world <strong>to advance Technical and Vocational Education and Training.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Frequency:<\/strong> It is held <strong>every two years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2026 Host:<\/strong> It is hosted in<strong> Shanghai, China.\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was held from <strong>23 to 25 September<\/strong> at the <strong>National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Skills range:<\/strong> It ranges from<strong> Robotics, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity to Aircraft Maintenance, Cooking, and Welding.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><strong>India&#8217;s Participation in 2026 edition<\/strong>:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>India&#8217;s participation at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 was coordinated by the <strong>National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is supported from <strong>Sector Skill Councils, industry partners, training institutions, technical experts<\/strong> and other stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>India is represented by its <strong>largest-ever contingent of 70 competitors<\/strong>, showcasing their talent and skills across <strong>63 different disciplines<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This year, India debuted in <strong>11 new and emerging skill categories, <\/strong>including Dental Prosthetics, Digital Interactive Media Design, Intelligent Security Technology, Landscape Gardening, Optoelectronic Technology, Retail Sales, Unmanned Aerial Systems, Industrial Mechanics, Software Testing, Heavy Vehicle Technology and Aircraft Maintenance.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Position:<\/strong> Team India secured <strong>10th position at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, Shanghai 2026.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Medals:<\/strong> They won<strong> 6 Silver Medals and 20 Medal for Excellence.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Winners of silver medals are:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Smriti Nambiar<\/strong> in <strong>Bakery<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mohammed Salam<\/strong> in <strong>Dental Prosthetics<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kovid Ajay Gangrade<\/strong> in<strong> Digital Interactive Media Design<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Parth Vohra<\/strong> in<strong> Industrial Design Technology;
