{"id":373101,"date":"2026-10-03T14:48:36","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T09:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=373101"},"modified":"2026-10-03T14:48:36","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T09:18:36","slug":"countrys-first-world-class-geological-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/countrys-first-world-class-geological-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Country\u2019s First World-Class Geological Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-box-green\">\n<p><b>News: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A world-class geological museum will be developed at Bhedaghat-Lamhetaghat area in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\"><b>About Country\u2019s First World-Class Geological Museum<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>first of its kind geological museum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Location: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be <\/span><b>developed at the famous Bhedaghat-Lamhetaghat area<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Jabalpur,<\/span><b> Madhya Pradesh.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Focus: <\/b>The project will <b>focus on protecting the natural surroundings and existing trees. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim is <\/span><b>to keep 90 per cent or more of the area green.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Budget:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This project has<\/span><b> an allocation of Rs. 87 crore.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Project Timeline: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is <\/span><b>targeted for completion by February 2028, within 18 months.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Nodal ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The nodal ministry for the project is <\/span><b>Ministry of Tourism.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Implementing agency: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will implement the project.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Features:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Area: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be developed on<\/span><b> around 12 hectares of land under the <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/govt-to-launch-swadesh-darshan-2-with-chosen-destinations-from-15-states\/\">Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project includes <\/span><b>development of a geological museum and interpretation centre<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will have<\/span><b> six galleries and more than 130 exhibits.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The museum <\/span><b>will explain the origin of the Earth and the geological history of the Narmada Valley and Madhya Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, going back millions of years, <strong>in a simple and interesting way.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Other attractions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will include<strong> 3D models, interactive touch tables, digital panels, an immersive theatre,<\/strong> Titanosaur Square, dinosaur park, fossil garden, geological maze, rock garden, tree-top walkway, glass floor, nature walks and viewing decks.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Restaurants, food courts, shops selling local products and an eco-resort <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will also be developed. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: A world-class geological museum will be developed at Bhedaghat-Lamhetaghat area in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
