This data will be<strong> available directly from the satellite.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>TAPAS-1 will carry<strong> a long-wave infrared sensor which will capture temperature information that is not visible in conventional optical imagery.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>TAPAS-2 will <strong>add medium-wave infrared and optical sensing capabilities,<\/strong> creating a multi-sensor payload.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applications<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Disaster management: It can also help in detecting and monitoring disasters such as <strong>forest fires<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thermal imaging tracks city temperatures<\/strong> in real time, helping authorities tackle urban heat stress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Agriculture:<\/strong> In agriculture, thermal data can help monitor <strong>crop and water stress<\/strong>, <strong>enabling more accurate and modern crop planning.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It can also support better <strong>urban planning and resource management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It has potential applications in <strong>archaeology and geology<\/strong>, where thermal imaging can help <strong>identify underground ruins and mineral deposits.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It can also support <strong>climate modelling<\/strong> by monitoring land and ocean surface temperatures, as well as <strong>weather forecasting, storm prediction, extreme-weather warnings, and climate-pattern analysis<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Recently, India\u2019s first dedicated commercial CubeSat-class thermal payload, TAPAS-1, was successfully deployed into orbit aboard SpaceX\u2019s Falcon 9 rocket.
