<strong>premier patrolling event of the British Army<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>It is widely known as the <strong>\u201cOlympics of Military Patrolling.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It is a <strong>mission focused and scenario-based exercise<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> It aim <strong>to assess operational effectiveness, physical endurance and tactical skills<\/strong> under realistic battlefield conditions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Frequency:<\/strong> It is conducted<strong> annually.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>First edition:<\/strong> It began in <strong>1959 as a field-training exercise<\/strong> devised by <strong>Welsh Territorial Army soldiers<\/strong> to test basic soldiering skills, including endurance, leadership, navigation, teamwork and marksmanship.\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It has been<strong> running for over 60 years<\/strong> and is th<strong>e British Army\u2019s principal All Arms Patrol Exercise.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It is the <strong>British Army\u2019s principal All Arms Patrol Exercise<\/strong> and is<strong> open to all three Services (Regular and Reserve) <\/strong>and<strong> international participants <\/strong>are encouraged to take part.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Assessment Criteria: <\/strong>It is <strong>not a competition,<\/strong> although patrol performance is assessed throughout based on <strong>Battlecraft Syllabus (BCS) <\/strong>and <strong>Individual Training Requirement (ITR).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Team Composition:<\/strong>\u00a0Each patrol typically consists of <strong>eight<\/strong> personnel who cover around <strong>60 km <\/strong>while carrying loads of up to<strong> 32 kg per person.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Activities:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Teams undertake <strong>reconnaissance, navigation, casualty evacuation, tactical decision-making and combat drills.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The exercise includes o<strong>bstacle and minefield crossings, intelligence gathering, communication procedures, artillery targeting and responses<\/strong> to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modern Warfare Scenarios:<\/strong> Recent editions have incorporated scenarios i<strong>nvolving drones, persistent surveillance and other emerging threats,<\/strong> while continuing to emphasize navigation, intelligence gathering and mission execution under pressure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Prizes: Patrols are evaluated against established military training standards, with gold, silver and bronze medals awarded<\/strong> according to their level of achievement.\n<ul>\n<li>Teams that complete the exercise but fall below the medal thresholds receive a completion award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"yellow-h2-box\"><strong>About Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Exercise was conducted from<strong> 2nd to 12th October 2026.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Location:<\/strong> It is held in <strong>Wales, United Kingdom.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hosted by:<\/strong> It is hosted by <strong>Headquarters 160th (Welsh) Brigade.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hosting nation: Wales, United Kingdom (British Army)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Phases and duration:<\/strong> The Exercise is currently<strong> made up of eight phases, each of 48 hours, over 10 days.\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Teams operate for <strong>approximately 48 hours in difficult mountainous terrain<\/strong> while completing various military tasks under strict time limits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Indian Army Participation and achievement:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indian team competed against more than 100 teams from across the world and was <strong>among the 10 teams awarded gold medals<\/strong> in one of the<strong> most demanding military patrolling exercises anywhere.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:
