Mr. <strong>Nursultan<\/strong> Nazarbayev,\u00a0on <strong>5 October 1992.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>First Summit and Meeting: <\/strong>The <strong>Almaty Act<\/strong>, serving as the <strong>charter<\/strong> of CICA, was adopted at the First CICA Summit in <strong>Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2022.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Secretariat:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Almaty<\/strong> (Kazakhstan)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Administration:<\/strong> The <strong>highest decision making<\/strong> organ of CICA is the <strong>Council of the CICA Heads of State or Government (Summit).\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>All <strong>decisions<\/strong> within CICA framework are taken by <strong>consensus<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Summits and Meetings:<\/strong>\u00a0The <strong>CICA Summit<\/strong> is convened <strong>every four years<\/strong> in order to conduct consultations, review the progress of, and set priorities for CICA activities.\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs<\/strong> is required to be <strong>held once every two years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Members:<\/strong>\u00a0To be a member of CICA, a <strong>state must have at least a part of its territory in Asia.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>CICA currently has <strong>twenty-eight Member States<\/strong> accounting for nearly <strong>ninety percent of the territory and population of Asia<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ten countries<\/strong> and <strong>five multi-national organizations<\/strong>, including the <strong>United Nations<\/strong>, have <strong>observer status<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participation of India:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>India<\/strong> is one of the <strong>founding members of CICA.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The <strong>Seventh Summit (2026)<\/strong> of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) will be <strong>held in Baku<\/strong> under the <strong>Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: India has called on member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to unite against all forms of terrorism.
