  1. The number of annual road traffic deaths has reached 1.35 million in 2016 from 1.25 million in 2013<\/li>\n
  2. Road traffic injuries are the leading killer of people aged 5-29 years. The burden is disproportionately borne by pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, in particular those living in developing countries.<\/li>\n
  3. Between 2013 and 2016, no low-income country could reduce road deaths, while some reductions were observed in 48 middle and high income countries<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. One in every nine fatalities due to road traffic injury between 2013 to 2016, were reported in India.<\/li>\n
