It is of broadly two types: (a) <\/span><b>Side-Cutting<\/b>: involve digging tunnel in hill slopes through which workers move to find coal seam (b) <b>Box-Cutting<\/b>: involve digging pit until coal seam found followed by digging rat hole tunnel<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;\">Why Rat Hole Mining method is done in Meghalaya?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;\">1.
