At present, 4% of dams are under the project.<\/li>\n<li>The project was launched in 2012 by the Central Water Commission (CWC) under Ministry of Water Resources, River Development &amp; Ganga Rejuvenation. It is a World Bank assisted project.<\/li>\n<li>The DRIP projects seeks to a) improve the safety and operational performance of selected existing dams and associated appurtenances in a sustainable manner and b) improve institutional capacities for dam safety evaluation and implementation at the Central and State levels.<\/li>\n<li>The Central Dam Safety Organization of Central Water Commission has been entrusted with coordinating and supervising the project implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Centre to bring 13 % of large dams under World Bank\u2019s dam rehabilitation project The Indian government has decided to increase the percentage of large dams under Dam Safety Rehabilitation and Improvement Project project(DRIP) to 13%.
