The temple is popularly known as the \u201cWomen Sabarimala\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Pongala, which means \u2018to boil over\u2019, is the ritual in which women prepare sweet payasam and offer it the main deity \u2018Bhagavathy\u2019, also referred to as \u2018Attukalamma\u2019.
