{"id":517,"date":"2019-02-01T17:57:59","date_gmt":"2019-02-01T12:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=517"},"modified":"2019-02-01T17:57:59","modified_gmt":"2019-02-01T12:27:59","slug":"unemployment-data-based-on-draft-report-niti-aayog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/unemployment-data-based-on-draft-report-niti-aayog\/","title":{"rendered":"Unemployment data based on draft report: NITI Aayog"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The government think tank,NITI Aayog dismissed the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) report on unemployment as a draft and not a final report.<\/li><li>The report showed that unemployment rate across the country stood at 6.1 per cent, the highest since 1972-73.It also showed that joblessness was higher in urban India (7.8%) than in rural India (5.3%).<\/li><li>Labour force participation rate(LFPR) &#8211; the proportion of population working or seeking jobs &#8211; declined to 36.9 percent in 2017-18 from 39.5 percent in 2011-12.<\/li><li>This phenomenon of unemployment rising while the LFPR dipped probably shows that people are simply giving up on finding jobs and have stopped seeking work.<\/li><li>The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) is the largest organisation in India conducting periodic socio-economic surveys.It comes under the Ministry of Statistics and programme implementation.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government think tank,NITI Aayog dismissed the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) report on unemployment as a draft and not a final report.
