agreement between a taxpayer and\n tax authority determining the transfer pricing methodology for pricing the\n taxpayer\u2019s international transactions for future years.<\/li><li>APA help taxpayers to voluntarily resolve\n actual or potential transfer pricing disputes in a proactive,cooperative\n manner as an alternative to the traditional examination process.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types of APAs:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Unilateral APA involves only the taxpayer\n and the tax authority of the country where the taxpayer is located.<\/li><li>Bilateral APA (BAPA) involves the\n taxpayer,associated enterprise (AE) of the taxpayer in the foreign\n country, tax authority of the country where the taxpayer is located and\n the foreign tax Measles is caused by Rubeola virus and\n Rubella is caused by Rubella virus.<\/li><li>Measles can cause serious complications,\n including blindness, encephalitis, severe diarrhoea, ear infection and\n pneumonia<\/li><li>Measles and Rubella have similar symptoms.\n However, rubella is a milder viral infection than measles. 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the report:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The report outlines enormous potential\n gains from the increasingly interconnected global economy but calls for\n concerted global efforts to spread the wealth potential to the many people\n who currently reap little benefit from it.<\/li><li>The report said that the United States and\n China create the vast majority of wealth in the digital economy as the two\n countries account for 75% of all patents related to blockchain\n technologies and as much as 90% per cent of the market capitalization\n value of the world\u2019s 70 largest digital platform companies.<\/li><li>According to the report,India generated\n the ninth-highest e-commerce sales globally in 2017 by generating a total\n business of $400 billion.The contribution of this to GDP was 15%.<\/li><li>Further,the report has also said that the\n only way for developing countries to exercise effective economic ownership\n and control over the data generated in their territories was to push on\n mandatory data series of large scale exercises that form part of the Russian Armed Forces\n annual training cycle.<\/li><li>The series rotates through the four main\n Russian operational strategic commands namely (a)Vostok (East) (b)Zapad\n (West) (c)TSENTR (Centre) and (d)Kavkaz (South).<\/li><li>These annual exercises have taken an\n international character with Belarus participating in ZAPAD-2017 and class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Indo-Thai CORPAT exercise is a bilateral\n maritime exercise between Indian Navy and Royal Thai Navy.<\/li><li>The two countries have been participating\n in the biannual Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) since 2003.<\/li><li>The objective of the exercise is to ensure\n effective implementation of United Nations Convention on the Laws of the\n Sea(UNCLOS) which specify UNCLOS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Law of the Sea Treaty formally known\n as the Third United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea was adopted\n in 1982 at Montego Bay, Jamaica.It entered into force in 1994.<\/li><li>The convention establishes a comprehensive\n set of rules governing the oceans and to replace previous U.N. Conventions\n on the Law of the Sea.This treaty defines the following terms<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Internal waters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Internal Waters refers to the all water\n and waterways on the landward side of the baseline of a country.<\/li><li>In the internal waters a country is free\n to set laws, regulate its use and use of its resources. There is no\n interference of the foreign countries.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Territorial waters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Territorial waters refer to 12 Nautical\n Miles from the baseline.<\/li><li>In this area the countries are free to set\n laws, regulate use and also use its resources.<\/li><li>However, the foreign vessels are NOT given\n all rights to passage through except \u201cInnocent Passage\u201d.<\/li><li>The innocent passage refers to the passing\n through the waters which is not prejudicial to peace and security.\n However, the nations have right to suspend the innocent passage. The submarine\n while passing through other country\u2019s territorial waters has to navigate\n on the surface and show their flags.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Contiguous Zone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The contiguous zone refers to the area 12\n Nautical Miles beyond the Territorial waters. This means that it is 24\n Nautical Miles from the baseline limit.<\/li><li>In this zone the country can enforce laws\n only in 4 areas viz. pollution, taxation, customs, and immigration.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exclusive Economic\nZones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Exclusive Economic Zones refers to the\n area from the edge of the territorial sea out to 200 nautical miles from\n the baseline. In this area, the country has sole exploitation rights over\n all natural resources.<\/li><li>The most important reason to introduce EEZ\n was to halt the clashes over the Fishing Rights and Oil Rights.<\/li><li>In the EEZ, the foreign vessels have\n freedom of navigation and overflight subject to the regulation of the\n coastal states.
