processing facility where about two-thirds of the total Saudi supply is\n refined and cleaned of impurities.<\/li><li>The attacks have impacted Saudi Arabia\u2019s\n oil production and exports, and in turn the global oil market.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Since,Saudi Arabia is the world\u2019s top oil\n exporter.It ships more than 7 million barrels of oil to global\n destinations every day.The output cut is 2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorized\nOccupants) Amendment Bill, 2019 has come into effect.The Bill amends the Public\nPremises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act,1971.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong>The bill aims to facilitate smooth and speedy\neviction of unauthorised occupants from government residential accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features of the\nbill:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Residential accommodation<\/strong>:The bill defines the residential\n accommodation occupation as the occupation of public premises by a person\n on the grant of a license for such an occupation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>The license must be given for a fixed\n tenure or for the period the person holds office.Further,the occupation\n must be allowed under the rules made by the central, state or union\n territory government, or a statutory authority.<\/li><li><strong>Notice for eviction:<\/strong>&nbsp;The Bill adds a provision laying\n down the procedure for eviction from residential accommodation.It requires\n an estate officer to issue a written notice to a person if he is in\n unauthorised occupation of a residential accommodation.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Order of eviction<\/strong>: After considering the cause shown and\n making any other inquiries,the estate officer will make an order for\n eviction.If the person fails to comply with the order, the estate officer\n may evict such person from the residential accommodation and take\n possession of it.<\/li><li><strong>Payment of damages<\/strong>: If the person in unauthorised occupation\n of the residential accommodation challenges the eviction order passed by\n the estate officer in court, he will be required to pay damages for every\n month of such occupation.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a of crude oil maintained by countries or private industries.They\n are meant to tackle emergency situations to counter short-term supply\n disruptions.<\/li><li>They represent a defense against any event\n of downfall in future oil production including physical or economic\n actions.<\/li><li>Globally,major oil consumers such as the\n US, China and Japan have already built massive strategic reserves of oil\n over the years with India following up.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strategic Petroleum\nReserves In India:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The construction and maintenance of\n strategic petroleum reserves (SPR) India is given to the Indian Strategic\n Petroleum Reserves Ltd (ISPRL).<\/li><li>Under Phase I,India has built Strategic\n oil reserves at Mangalore (Karnataka), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and\n Padur (Karnataka).<\/li><li>These reserves can store 5.33 MT(million\n tonnes) of emergency storage to meet India\u2019s oil needs for 9.5 days.<\/li><li>In Phase-II,India plans to build an\n additional 6.5 million tonne facilities at Chandikhol(Odisha) and\n Padur(Karnataka) which is expected to add the emergency cover against any\n oil World Ozone Day 2019 celebrates over\n three decades of international cooperation to protect the ozone layer and\n the climate under the Montreal Protocol.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Montreal Protocol:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>On September 16,1987,the United Nations\n and 45 other countries had signed the Montreal Protocol on substances that\n deplete the Ozone functionary and member of a nongovernmental organization(NGO) seeking\n registration under FCRA to file an affidavit declaring that the individual\n has not been involved in any act of religious conversion or prosecuted for\n communal disharmony.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Earlier under the 2011 norms,only top\n officials had to make this declaration while seeking Ministry of Home\n affairs permission to organisations(NGOs) in India.<\/li><li>The objective of the Act is to prevent use\n of foreign contribution or foreign hospitality for any activity\n detrimental to the national interest.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Salient Features of\nthe Act:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The act defines the term \u2018foreign\n contribution\u2019 to include currency, article other than gift for personal\n use and securities received from foreign sources.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The act says that organizations having a\n definite cultural, economic, educational, religious or social programme\n are entitled to accept foreign contributions under the FCRA.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Such contributions may be accepted only\n with the approval of the Government of India through the Ministry of Home\n Affairs.<\/li><li>The act also requires non-governmental\n organisations(NGOs) to register themselves every five years.<\/li><li>The act prohibits acceptance and use of\n foreign contribution or foreign hospitality by certain specified category\n of persons such as a candidate for election, judge, journalist, columnist,\n newspaper publication, cartoonist among others.<\/li><li>The act also mandates that foreign\n contributions should be utilized only for the purpose for which they were\n received.It also imposes restrictions on the transfer of class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In Steel Import Monitoring System(SIMS),\n the importers of specified steel products will register in advance on the\n web portal of SIMS by providing necessary information.<\/li><li>The SIMS will then provide advance\n information about the steel imports to both the government and\n stakeholders.<\/li><li>Stakeholders include the steel industry\n (producers)
