repetitive bill\n payments.It functions under the aegis of National Payments Corporation of\n India (NPCI).<\/li><li>It is a one-stop payment platform for all bills providing an\n interoperable and accessible anytime anywhere bill payment service to\n customers across the country.<\/li><li>Currently, BBPS covers bills of five segments namely (a) Direct\n to Home (DTH), (b) Electricity, (c) Gas, (d) Telecom and (e) Water.<\/li><li>The RBI has now decided to expand the scope and coverage of\n BBPS to include all categories of billers.<\/li><li>The expansion would increase the user base of this scheme,institutions having good accreditation\n records or the top-performing institutions are selected to mentor\n relatively newer 10 to 12 potential institutions.<\/li><li>The best teaching and learning practices followed in the mentor\n institute will be simulated in the identified mentee institutions.<\/li><li>The mentee institutions will also be provided with funding up\n to Rs. 50 lakhs (per institution) over a period of three years (in\n instalments) for carrying out various activities like training, workshops,\n conferences among others.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Margdarshak:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under this scheme, mentor teachers or Margdarshak who are\n either serving or superannuated but willing and motivated with good\n knowledge of accreditation and who can devote adequate time to make\n required visits to these Institutions are identified.<\/li><li>These beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About PMMVY:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana(PMMVY) is a Maternity\n Benefit Programme that is implemented in all the districts of the country\n in accordance with the provision of the National Food Security Act, 2013.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The scheme is a conditional cash transfer scheme for pregnant\n and lactating women of 19 years of age or above for first live birth.<\/li><li>It provides a partial wage compensation to women for wage-loss\n during childbirth and childcare and to provide conditions for safe\n delivery and good nutrition and feeding practices.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme under which cost\n sharing ratio between the Centre and the States &amp; UTs with Legislature\n is 60:40 while for North-Eastern States &amp; three Himalayan States; it\n is 90:10. gig\nworkers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The draft code has proposed to offer a slew of benefits from\n provident funds to health cover, accident insurance and education for\n children of informal and gig workers.<\/li><li>The code also says that the state governments may also unveil\n schemes related to provident fund, employment injury benefits, housing,\n educational schemes for children, skill upgradation for workers among\n others.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Existing labour laws that the code will\nmerge:<\/strong>The code will merge the following retail, agriculture and Micro Small and Medium\n enterprises(MSMEs)&nbsp;<\/li><li>The aim of this initiative is to improve consumption in the\n economy which is expected to boost the growth in the countries.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>India has concerns over US visa policies which has affected Indian\n nationals working in the United States.India is challenging US fees for\n worker visas in the WTO and monitoring potential US action to revise the\n H-1B visa program.<\/li><li>India has also asked US for a totalization agreement to\n coordinate social security protection for workers who split their careers\n between the two countries.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E-commerce rules:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The US has concerns regarding India\u2019s e-commerce rules which\n had imposed restrictions on how e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and\n Walmart owned Flipkart conduct employers are required to pay Social Security taxes to two countries on\n the same earnings.&nbsp;<\/li><li>In addition,totalization agreements also removes legal\n obstacles that prevent a person who
