projects of the Union Ministry of Home\n Affairs under Nirbhaya Fund.<\/li><li>The system has been designed to play a\n pivotal role in mitigation or preventing escalation of crime, especially\n against women and children.<\/li><li>ERSS envisages a single pan-India\n emergency number \u2018112\u2019, which is an internationally recognised number to\n target all types of emergencies.<\/li><li>The features of ERSS includes (a)computer\n aided dispatch of field resources to the location of distress and\n (b)Citizens can send their emergency information through call, sms in the\n aftermath of the gruesome gang-rape and murder in Delhi.<\/li><li>The key schemes under the fund includes\n (a)Emergency Response Support System (b)Central Victim Compensation Fund\n (c)Cyber for\nTechnology(NEAT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About NEAT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The scheme aims to use Artificial\n Intelligence to make learning more personalized and customized as per the\n requirements of the learner.<\/li><li>Under the scheme,a National NEAT platform\n will be created that would provide one-stop access to these technological\n solutions.<\/li><li>All India Council for Technical\n Education(AICTE) would be the implementing agency for the NEAT programme.<\/li><li>The ministry will also create a National\n Alliance with technology developing EdTech Companies through a\n Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.<\/li><li>MHRD would act as a facilitator to ensure\n that the Adaptive Learning Solutions are freely available to a large number\n of economically backward students.<\/li><li>EdTech companies would be responsible for\n developing solutions and manage the registration of learners benches of the Supreme Court of India which consist of at least five\n judges of the court.<\/li><li>These judges sit to decide on a case\n involving a substantial question of law as to the interpretation of the\n Constitution of India or for the purpose of hearing any reference made by\n the President of India under Article 143.<\/li><li>The provision of constitution bench has\n been mandated under Article 145 (3) of the Constitution of India.<\/li><li>The Chief Justice of India has the power\n to constitute a Constitution Bench and refer cases to it.<\/li><li>The Constitution world.<\/li><li>The mission has received funding from U.S.\n institutions such as the National Science Foundation, the Department of\n Energy, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Khanderi:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>INS Khanderi is the second of six planned\n Scorpene-class submarines being built at Mazagon Dock Limited(MDL) under\n technology transfer from Naval Group of France as part of Project 75I.<\/li><li>The submarine is named after Maratha king\n Chhatrapati Shivaji\u2019s island fort Khanderi.<\/li><li>The state-of-the-art features allow this\n Scorpene submarine to launch attacks on the enemy using precision-guided\n weapons.<\/li><li>The submarine is designed to operate in\n all theatres including the tropics.It is equipped with all means and\n communication to ensure interoperability with other components of a naval\n task<\/li><li>INS Khanderi is also capable of\n undertaking various types of missions such as Six Scorpene Class Submarines are\n (a)INS Kalvari (b)INS Khanderi (c)INS Karanj (d)INS Vela (e)INS Vagir and\n (f)INS Vagsheer.<\/li><li>They will have advanced Air-independent\n propulsion (AIP) corporate\ntax rate cut?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The corporate tax rate was reduced as the\n two other factors of the economy namely government expenditure (where the\n fiscal deficit is under pressure) and exports (which have been stagnant)\n have little space to boost growth.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Significance of\ncorporate tax cut:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The lower corporate tax is aimed at\n boosting private sector investment in the backdrop of slowdown in\n consumption and decline in investment by private businesses.<\/li><li>The cut in corporate tax will also make it\n more attractive for existing and new businesses to invest and increase\n production which in turn will create employment.<\/li><li>However,this move will also cost the\n government Rs 1.45 lakh crore annually.This increases the chances of\n higher fiscal deficit and government may have to resort to spending objective of introduction of MAT is to\n bring into the tax net zero tax companies who in spite of having earned\n substantial book profits(the profit shown in the profit and loss account)\n do not class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Corporate social responsibility (CSR) was\n initiated through the Companies Act, 2013.<\/li><li>The act mandated companies and government\n organisations with (a)turnover of Rs1,000 crore or more(b)net worth\n exceeding Rs 500crore or (c)having more than Rs 5 crore in net profits to\n spend 2% of average net profit of the preceding three years on CSR.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activities that can\nbe undertaken under CSR:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The CSR amount can be spent on initiatives\n that would have social, economic and environmental impact or a way to give\n back to the society.<\/li><li>These initiatives include (a)promoting\n gender equality (b)empowering women (c)promoting education (d)eradicating\n hunger (e)poverty, (f)malnutrition (g)rural development projects among\n others.<\/li><li>The companies were also allowed to provide\n CSR funds to technology incubators located activities and companies can now contribute towards research across\n various fields such as science, technology, medicine.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Besides,CSR funds can also be spent on\n incubators funded by Government<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Government has said that the Draft Information\nTechnology Rules,2018 which mandate social media companies to cooperate with\nthe police in cracking cyber crimes has been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Draft Information\nTechnology [Intermediaries Guidelines (Amendment) Rules] 2018:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The aim of the draft rules is to make\n social media and internet companies, that have over 50 lakh users more\n accountable for the content on their platforms.<\/li><li>The rules says that online intermediaries\n with more than 50 lakh users will be required to have a registered entity\n in India under the Companies Act.<\/li><li>The online intermediaries should also\n appoint in India, a nodal person of contact for 24X7 coordination with law\n enforcement agencies and ensure compliance with their orders.<\/li><li>They should provide information or\n assistance within 72 hours when asked by any government agency for reasons\n of State security, cyber security, investigation, detection, prosecution\n or prevention of offenses.<\/li><li>The social media intermediaries should\n publish rules, privacy policy to stop users from engaging in online\n material which is paedophilic, pornographic, hateful, racially and\n ethnically objectionable.<\/li><li>The intermediary should deploy technology\n based automated tools for identifying and removing or disabling public\n access to unlawful information or contents.<\/li><li>The intermediary should report\n cybersecurity incidents with the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team.<\/li><li>On their website,the intermediary should\n also publish the name of the Grievance Officer and his contact details and\n the mechanism by which users or any victim who suffers can notify their\n complaints against such platforms.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Germany Unveils 100 Billion Euro Climate\nPackage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Germany has unveiled a 100 billion Euro climate\npackage over the next four years to speed up the country\u2019s transition to\nrenewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Climate\nchange well as in inland capture fisheries.<\/li><li>The total fish production of 12.59 million\n metric tonnes was registered during 2017-18 with a contribution of 8.90\n million metric tonnes from inland sector and 3.69 million metric tonnes\n from marine sector.<\/li><li>The average growth in fish production\n during 2017-18 stands at 10.14% when compared to 2016-17 (11.43 million\n metric tonnes).<\/li><li>The percentage contribution of inland fish\n production in the total fish production of 29% during the year 1950-51 has\n increased to 71% in the year 2017-18.<\/li><li>Andhra
