class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The\n exercise EASTERN BRIDGE-V will be held at Air Force Base Masirah in\n Oman.The exercise was first held in 2009.<\/li><li>The\n joint exercise aims to improve interoperability during mutual operations\n between both Air Forces and it will provide an opportunity to learn from\n each other\u2019s best practices.<\/li><li>It\n will be for the first time when of Indian states and union\n territories.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The\n index has been developed on the lines of the Global Innovation\n Index(GII).It is expected to help the innovation ecosystem of Indian\n states and Union Territories(UTs) to design policies to drive innovation\n across regions.<\/li><li>The\n index performs the following three functions (a) ranking of states and UTs\n based on their index scores (b)recognizing opportunities and challenges\n and (c) assisting in tailoring governmental policies to foster innovation.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parameters:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Index is calculated as the average of the scores of its\ntwo dimensions \u2013 Enablers and the country.The top ten major\n states are majorly concentrated in southern and western India.<\/li><li>Karnataka\n has emerged topper in the overall rankings in the category of major states\n with Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in the second and third positions.<\/li><li>Karnataka\u2019s\n top position is partly attributed to its top rank in the Performance\n dimension.<\/li><li>Maharashtra\n performs the best in the dimension of Enablers.This implies that it has\n the best enabling environment for innovation even though the state comes\n in at the third position in the overall innovation index.<\/li><li>Among\n the North-Eastern states and Union territories,Sikkim and Delhi occupy the\n top spots respectively.<\/li><li>Delhi,\n Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar
