type 3(WPV3) has been eradicated worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Polio:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Polio\n is an acute infectious disease caused by polio virus.The virus is a human\n enterovirus of the Picornaviridae.<\/li><li>It\n is transmitted from one person to another by oral contact with secretions\n or faecal material from an infected person.<\/li><li>It\n attacks the central nervous system through the bloodstream and damage the\n cells and paralyse the victim.<\/li><li>Polio\n mainly affects children under 5 years of age.There is no cure for polio,\n it can only be prevented.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The\n strategy to eradicate polio is therefore based on preventing infection by\n immunizing every child until transmission stops.<\/li><li>India\n was declared polio free in 2014 and the last case was reported in January\n 2011.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types of Polio virus:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There\n are three individual and immunologically distinct wild poliovirus strains\n namely (a)wild poliovirus type 1(WPV1) (b)wild poliovirus type 2 (WPV2)\n and (c)wild poliovirus type 3 (WPV3).<\/li><li>Symptomatically,all\n three strains are identical, in that they cause irreversible paralysis or\n even death.&nbsp;<\/li><li>But\n there are genetic and virological differences, which make these three\n strains three separate viruses that must each be eradicated individually.<\/li><li>The\n WPV2 and WPV3 have been eradicated globally but WPV1 remains in\n circulation in just two countries namely Afghanistan and Pakistan.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Technology.<\/li><li>Quantum\n supremacy refers to quantum computers being able to solve a problem that a\n classical computer cannot.<\/li><li>It\n uses the principles of quantum mechanics so that they can easily tackle\n computational problems that are beyond the scope for the classical\n computer.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quantum computing and Traditional vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Cape Town Agreement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The\n Cape Town Agreement was adopted by the IMO in 2012 to help combat illegal,\n unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing.<\/li><li>The\n agreement is aimed at facilitating better control of fishing vessel safety\n by flag, port and coastal states.<\/li><li>It\n includes mandatory safety measures for fishing vessels of 24 meters (79\n feet) in length and over.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It\n covers key parameters such as stability and associated seaworthiness,\n machinery, and electrical installations, life-saving appliances,\n communications equipment, fire protection and fishing vessel construction.<\/li><li>The\n agreement will enter into force 12 months after at least 22 nations with\n an aggregate of 3,600 fishing vessels of 24 metres and over in length\n operating on the high seas will express their consent to be bound by Recognition System(AFRS):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Automated\n Facial Recognition System involves a large database of photos as well as\n videos of peoples\u2019 faces and biometric software.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The\n software maps facial features of an individual mathematically and stores the\n data as a faceprint in the database.<\/li><li>Then,a\n new image of an unidentified person is often taken from CCTV footage is\n compared to the existing database to find a match and identify the person.<\/li><li>The\n artificial intelligence technology used for pattern-finding and matching\n is called neural networks.<\/li><li>Neural\n networks are a set of algorithms modeled loosely after the human brain\n that are designed to recognize
