lakh biodiversity management committees(BMC) as of January 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Facts:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>About Biodiversity management committees(BMC):<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) are statutory bodies that are formed by the local bodies under Biological Diversity Act 2002.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Composition:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BMC consists of a Chairperson and six persons nominated by local
