Sabha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nBudget:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The word Budget has not been used\nin the Constitution of India.Rather Article 112 of the Constitution of India\nmentions the term \u201cAnnual Financial statement\u201d.<\/li><li>The budget is a statement of the\nestimated receipts and expenditure of the Government of India among other\nthings.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme\nof Budget 2020-21:<\/strong>The Union Budget has been structured\non the overall theme of \u201cEase of Living.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aim of\nthe Budget:<\/strong>Union Budget 2020-21 aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To achieve seamless delivery of\nservices through Digital governance<\/li><li>To improve physical quality of\nlife through National Infrastructure Pipeline<\/li><li>Risk mitigation through Disaster\nResilience<\/li><li>Social security through Pension\nand Insurance penetration.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prominent\nTheme:<\/strong>The&nbsp;\nbudget is woven around three prominent themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Aspirational India<\/strong> in which all sections of\nthe society seek better standards of living, with access to health, education\nand better jobs.<\/li><li><strong>Economic development for all<\/strong>, indicated in the\nPrime Minister\u2019s exhortation of \u201cSabkaSaath, SabkaVikas, SabkaVishwas\u201d.<\/li><li><strong>Caring Society<\/strong> that is both humane and\ncompassionate, where Antyodaya is an article of faith.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" 2020-2<\/strong><\/a><strong>1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>In Budget 2020-21,Government of India has presented the Macro-economic\nFramework Statement(MFS) 2020-21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key\nHighlights of the statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Macroeconomic Framework\nStatement(MFS) 2020-21 describes the return path of fiscal consolidation\nwithout compromising the needs of investment out of public funds.<\/li><li><strong>Fiscal Deficit:<\/strong>The government\u2019s fiscal deficit\nfor 2019-20 will be 3.8% of the gross domestic product(GDP) compared to 3.3%\nprojected last year.For the financial year 2020-21,the fiscal deficit target\nhas been set at 3.5%.<\/li><li><strong>Disinvestment target:<\/strong>The government has pegged\ndisinvestment target for 2020-21 at Rs 1.20 lakh crore nearly double of Rs 65,000\ncrore it expects to raise in the current financial year. <\/li><li><strong>Capital Expenditure:<\/strong>The Finance Minister has\nproposed a 21% increase in capital expenditure for the FY 2020-21. <\/li><li>India is now the <strong>fifth-largest<\/strong> economy in the world<\/li><li><strong>FDI<\/strong>:India\u2019s Foreign Direct Investment(FDI)\nelevated to US$ 284 billion during 2014-19 from US$ 190 billion during 2009-14.<\/li><li><strong>National Infrastructure Pipeline(NIP):<\/strong>To\nimprove the physical quality of life,the Government has announced the NIP of\nprojects worth Rs. 102 lakh crores which would commence in phases from 2020-21\nto 2024-25.<\/li><li><strong>Debt:<\/strong>Centre\u2019s debt as a percentage of GDP has\ncome down to 48.7% as of May, 2019. <\/li><li><strong>Poverty:<\/strong>271 million people raised out of\npoverty between 2006 and 2016. <\/li><li><strong>Taxpayers:<\/strong>6 million new taxpayers have been\nadded in the last four Minister for Finance &amp; Corporate Affairs has announced a\nproposal to set up a National Technical Textiles Mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nNational Technical Textiles Mission:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The National Technical Textiles\nMission will be implemented for a period of four-years from 2020-21 to 2023-24\nat an estimated outlay of \u20b91,480 crore.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nTechnical Textiles:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Technical textiles are materials\nand products manufactured primarily for their technical properties and\nfunctional requirements rather than for aesthetic characteristics. <\/li><li>Technical textiles include\ntextiles for automotive applications, medical textiles (e.g., implants),\ngeotextiles (reinforcement of embankments), agrotextiles (textiles for crop\nprotection) among others.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/business\/budget\/budget-2020-deposit-insurance-cover-raised-to-5-lakh\/article30714464.ece\"><strong>Budget\n2020:Deposit Insurance cover raised to \u20b95 lakh<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The Finance minister has announced in the Budget that the Deposit\ninsurance cover for bank deposits has been raised to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 1 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nDeposit Insurance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Deposit insurance is providing\ninsurance protection of Rs 1 lakh to the depositor\u2019s money by receiving a\npremium.<\/li><li>The government has set up Deposit\nInsurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) under RBI to protect\ndepositors if a bank fails.<\/li><li>The Deposit cover is for deposits\nin commercial banks, regional rural banks (RRBs), local area banks (LABs) and\ncooperative banks and branches of foreign banks in India.<\/li><li>In Budget 2020,the Government has\nnow raised this Deposit insurance cover to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 1 lakh.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nDICGC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Deposit Insurance and Credit\nGuarantee Corporation (DICGC) is a subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of\nIndia(RBI).<\/li><li>It was established in 1978 as a\nstatutory body under Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation\nAct,1961.<\/li><li>The act provides for the\nestablishment of a Corporation for the purpose of insurance of deposits and\nguaranteeing of credit facilities and for other matters connected therewith or\nincidental thereto.<\/li><li>The Deputy Governor of RBI acts plan to revive agricultural sector<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Union Finance minister has proposed 16 action points focusing on\ndoubling Farmers income, Horticulture sector, Food storage, Animal Husbandry\nand Blue economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\n16 point Action Plan:<\/strong>The key highlight of the 16-point\naction plan includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Help 20 lakh farmers setup\nstandalone solar pumps under <strong>PM-KUSUM\nscheme.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Artificial insemination<\/strong> to be increased to 70%\nfrom the present 30%.<\/li><li>Expansion of NABARD Refinancing\nScheme while MGNREGS to be used to develop fodder farm<\/li><li>State governments who undertake\nimplementation of model laws (issued by the Central government) to be\nencouraged.<\/li><li><strong>Village Storage Scheme<\/strong> which will be run by\nthe SHG (Self Help Group) to provide farmers a good holding
