The nodal ministry for the implementation of\nthe initiative is the Ministry of Tourism. <\/li><li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> To develop the selected sites into\nworld class tourist destinations to serve as a model for other tourism sites.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features\nof the project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Inter-ministerial coordination\namong Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Civil Aviation.<\/li><li>Sites to be developed at par\nwith International standards. Interventions in and around the monuments will\nhave elements of universal accessibility, green technology, and enhanced\nsecurity for tourists.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Selected\nSites:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri\n(Uttar Pradesh) <\/li><li>Ajanta &amp; Ellora\n(Maharashtra) <\/li><li>Humayun\u2019s Tomb, Red Fort and\nQutub Minar (Delhi) <\/li><li>Colva (Goa) <\/li><li>Ajmer Fort (Rajasthan) <\/li><li>Somnath and Dholavira (Gujarat)\n<\/li><li>Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh) <\/li><li>Hampi (Karnataka) <\/li><li>Mahabalipuram (Tamil Nadu), <\/li><li>Kaziranga(Assam) <\/li><li>Kumarakom (Kerala) and <\/li><li>Mahabodhi Temple (Bihar).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adopt\na Heritage Scheme (Apni Dharohar Apni Pehchan Project):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Launched in 2017, it is an\ninitiative by Ministry of Tourism in close collaboration with Archaeological\nSurvey of India (ASI). It aims to develop the heritage sites \/ monuments, make\nthem tourist-friendly to enhance the tourism potential&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under this scheme, heritage sites\/monuments and other tourist\n sites are entrusted to private players or public sector companies for the\n development of tourist amenities. <\/li><li>The Red Fort was adopted by the Dalmia Group, while the Qutub\n Minar and the Ajanta Caves were adopted by Yatra Online.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Swadesh\nDarshan scheme:<\/strong> It was launched in 2014-15 by the\nMinistry of Tourism. It aims at integrated development of theme based tourist\ncircuits. Example: &nbsp;Ramayana Circuit, Desert Circuit, Tribal Circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National\nHeritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) scheme<\/strong>: It was launched by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in 2015.\nIt aims at holistic development of heritage cities such as Ajmer, Puri,\nMathura, Gaya etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pilgrimage\nRejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) Scheme<\/strong>: It was launched by Ministry of Tourism in 2015. It aims at identifying\nand developing pilgrim sites across India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleseDetail.aspx?PRID=1595713\"><strong>Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana for Disabled\nPersons<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>&nbsp; Ministry of Social Justice\nand Empowerment informed Lok Sabha about Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It was launched by the Ministry\nof Social Justice and Empowerment in 2017.<\/li><li>It is scheme for providing\nPhysical Aids and Assisted-living Devices for Senior citizens belonging to BPL\ncategory. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The beneficiaries under the\nscheme are identified through Assessment Camps organised in collaboration with\nthe respective State Government\/District Administration. <\/li><li>Under the Scheme, assisted\nliving devices such as Walking Sticks, Elbow Crutches, Walkers\/ Crutches,\nHearing Aids, Wheelchairs, Spectacles etc. are provided free of cost to the\nbeneficiary senior citizens.<\/li><li>The devices are distributed in\nDistribution Camps organised in the selected districts. For the senior citizens\naged 80 years or more, the devices are provided at their doorsteps.<\/li><li>The Scheme is implemented\nthrough the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO), a PSU under\nthe Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleseDetail.aspx?PRID=1595791\">Parliament passes\nthe Arms (Amendment) Bill, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> Parliament passed the Arms (Amendment) Bill, 2019 which seeks to\namend the Arms Act, 1959.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key\nprovisions of Arms (Amendment) Bill, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>License for acquiring firearms:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Bill reduces the number of\npermitted firearms from three to one.<\/li><li>It also increases the duration\nof the validity of a firearm license from three years to five years<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ban on unlicensed firearms<\/strong>: The bill prohibits obtaining or procuring un-licensed firearms,\nand the conversion of one category of firearms to another without a license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Increase in punishment:<\/strong>&nbsp;It provides for enhanced punishment for illegally possessing\nand making prohibited arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New\noffences added:<\/strong> The bill adds two new offences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Forcefully taking a firearm\nfrom police or armed forces<\/li><li>Using firearms in a celebratory\ngunfire which endangers human life <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tracking of firearms: <\/strong>The billstates that thecentral government may make rules to track firearms and ammunition from\nmanufacturer to purchaser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindubusinessline.com\/news\/education\/india-skills-report-finds-4621-of-students-employable\/article30269722.ece\"><strong>India\nSkills Report finds 46.21% of students employable<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News: <\/strong>India Skills Report 2019-20 has been released<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>India Skills Report is a joint initiative of Wheebox (a global\ntalent-assessment company), Taggd by PeopleStrong and Confederation of Indian\nIndustry (CII) in collaboration with UNDP, AICTE and AIU.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key\ntakeaways:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>About 46.21% students were\nfound employable in 2019. <\/li><li>The most employable candidates\nas per the courses were MBA Students at 54%.<\/li><li>Among the States, Maharashtra\nranked first in terms of employability.<\/li><li>Mumbai followed by Hyderabad\nwere ranked the top two employable cities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GoI\nschemes for Skill Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>National Skill Development Mission (2015): <\/strong>It aims to create convergence\nacross sectors and States in terms of skill training activities.<\/li><li><strong>Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas\nYojana (PMKVY):&nbsp;<\/strong>It was launched by The\nMinistry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in 2015. The\nobjective of this scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up\nindustry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better\nlivelihood. It is implemented through National Skill Development Corporation<\/li><li><strong>Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion\n(SANKALP):<\/strong> Launched in it is an outcome oriented\nproject supported by World Bank. Under the scheme, four key result areas have\nbeen identified viz: (i) Institutional Strengthening; (ii) Quality Assurance;\n(iii) Inclusion; and (iv) Expanding Skills through PPPs.<\/li><li><strong>Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana: <\/strong>It was launched by Ministry of\nRural Development in 2014. It measures the emissions, renewable\nenergy share and climate policies of 57 countries and the European Union.
