It is in accordance to\n the National Food Security Act 2013.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Providing partial compensation for the wage loss in terms of\n cash incentive.<\/li><li>Improved health seeking behaviour amongst the Pregnant Women\n and Lactating Mothers (PW&amp; LM).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong> A cash\nincentive of 5000\/- is provided directly to the Bank \/ Post Office Account of\nPregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&amp;LM) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beneficiaries:<\/strong> All eligible Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers who have their\npregnancy on or after 1<sup>st<\/sup> January 2017 for first child in family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Exclusion:<\/em> PW&amp;LM who are in regular\nemployment with the Central\/State Government or PSUs or those who are in\nreceipt of similar benefits under any law.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Implementation:<\/strong> PMMVY is implemented using the platform of Anganwadi Services\nscheme of Umbrella ICDS under Ministry of Women and Child Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan<\/strong>: Launched by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the scheme guarantees\na minimum package of antenatal care services to women in their 2nd \/ 3rd\ntrimesters of pregnancy at designated government health facilities.<\/li><li><strong>Janani Suraksha Yojana<\/strong>: Under the\nscheme, eligible pregnant women are entitled for cash assistance irrespective\nnumber of children for giving birth in a government or accredited private\nhealth facility.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>State\nMaternity Benefit Programs:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Mamta scheme, Odisha<\/strong>: Rs. 5,000 per\nchild provided to PW&amp; LM for first two child births.<\/li><li><strong>Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme, Tamil Nadu<\/strong>: financial assistance of Rs. 18,000 per child and amma nutrition\nkit is provided to PW&amp;LM for the first two births.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/technology\/government-testing-gims-its-secure-messaging-app-6169018\/\">Government\nInstant Messaging System<\/a> (GIMS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> The government is testing Government Instant Messaging System<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is an instant messaging\nplatform developed for intra and inter organisation communications amongst\ncentral and state government departments and organizations.<\/li><li>It has been designed and\ndeveloped by the Kerala unit of National Informatics Centre (NIC).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/android-vulnerable-to-cyberattack-union-home-ministry\/article30314842.ece\">Android\nvulnerable to cyberattack: Union Home Ministry<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>News: Union Home Ministry has warned states\nabout the vulnerability of the Android operating system to a bug called\n\u2018StrandHogg\u2019. It seeks to make\nMajuli, India\u2019s first carbon neutral district by 2020. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Carbon\nNeutrality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It refers to achieving net zero\ncarbon emissions by having a balance between emitting carbon and absorbing\ncarbon from the atmosphere in carbon sinks. It can be achieved through\nreduction in Co2 emissions and\/or carbon offsetting.<\/li><li>Carbon offsetting means\ncompensating for the carbon-dioxide pollution by preventing pollution somewhere\nelse. Example: investment in renewable energy, energy efficiency, low carbon\ntechnologies etc. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Carbon sink is any system that\nabsorbs more carbon than it emits.
