The air sacs may be filled with fluid or pus\ncausing cough with phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing. <\/li><li>A variety of organisms including\nbacteria, viruses and fungi can cause pneumonia.<\/li><li>The World Health Organisation\n(WHO) identifies pneumonia is the single largest cause of death in children\nworldwide.<\/li><li>As per Health Management\nInformation System (HMIS) data,a digital initiative by National Health Mission-\nUnder-five mortality rate in India is 37 per 1000 live births of which 5.3\ndeaths are caused due to pneumonia. <\/li><li>Hence,the government aims to\nachieve a target of reducing pneumonia deaths among children to less than three\nper 1,000 live births by 2025.<\/li><li>In 2014,Government of India had\nalso launched \u2018Integrated Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Pneumonia\nand Diarrhoea(IAPPD)\u2019 to undertake collaborative efforts towards prevention of\ndiarrhoea and Pneumonia related under-five deaths.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/india-for-higher-indigenous-content-in-ka-226-choppers\/story-5DLcShUvMkG51xPWHgs4DJ.html\"><strong>India for\nhigher indigenous content in Ka-226 choppers<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>India wants higher indigenous content in the Kamov-226T light utility\nchoppers which are to be the\ndeal for 200 Kamov KA-226T light utility helicopters during Indian Prime\nMinister\u2019s visit to Russia in 2015.<\/li><li>Under the deal,Russia will supply\n60 Kamov KA-226T light utility helicopters in a fly-away condition.<\/li><li>The rest will be assembled in\nIndia jointly with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL) under \u2018Make in India\u2019\nprogramme to promote domestic manufacturing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nKamov-226:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kamov 226 is a small, twin engine\nRussian utility helicopter.It is manufactured by Russian Helicopters.It will\nreplace the ageing Cheetah and Chetak choppers.<\/li><li>The helicopter has a maximum\ntakeoff weight of 3.6 tons.It can carry up to one ton payload.It has a maximum\nspeed of 220 Km\/hr.<\/li><li>Kamov 226 is capable of working in\nextreme and difficult weather conditions.This includes hot climate, marine\nareas and high mountains.<\/li><li>The machine will be the third industrial\npolicy after the first in 1956 and the second in 1991.<\/li><li>The new industrial policy will\nreplace the industrial policy of 1991 which was prepared in the backdrop of the\nbalance of payment crisis. <\/li><li>The policy was prepared with an\naim to (a)create jobs for the next two decades (b)promote foreign technology\ntransfer and (c)attract $100 billion foreign investment annually.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key\nfeatures of the draft policy:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The policy targets $1 trillion\ngross value addition in the manufacturing sector by 2025.<\/li><li>The policy envisages setting up\nbusiness enterprises which are globally competitive and can create gainful\nemployment and sustainable livelihoods.<\/li><li>It also involves creating industry\nthat is equipped with innovation, technology, financially viable and\nenvironment friendly and whose benefits are shared by all sections of the\nsociety.<\/li><li>The policy has also proposed a\ndetailed implementation mechanism of the policy under which it has suggested\nsetting up of a national industrial competitiveness council and a steering\ncommittee.<\/li><li>The policy would also work in\ntandem with the Skill India Mission to improve the employability of future\nworkforce and with the foreign trade policy to enhance India\u2019s share in global\nmerchandise exports.<\/li><li>It would also enable harmonious\nimplementation of macro fiscal and monetary policies and ensure that incentive\nregime for industry is competitive.<\/li><li>Further, it will work to revive\ninvestments into industry and manufacturing with a balanced focus on both\nquantity and quality of investments.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde has taken oath as the 47th Chief Justice of\nIndia (CJI) by the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nChief Justice of India:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The chief justice of India(CJI) is\nthe head of the judiciary of India and the Supreme Court of India.The CJI also\nheads their administrative functions.<\/li><li>As head of the supreme court,the\nchief justice is responsible for the allocation of cases and appointment of\nconstitutional benches which deal with important matters of law.<\/li><li>On the administrative side,the\nchief justice carries out the following functions (a)maintenance of the roster\n(b)appointment of court officials and (c)general and miscellaneous matters relating\nto the supervision and functioning of the Supreme Court.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Constitution\non the appointment of CJI:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Constitution of India does not\nhave any provision for criteria and procedure for appointing the CJI. <\/li><li>Article 124(1) of the Indian\nConstitution says there shall be a Supreme Court of India consisting of a Chief\nJustice of India.<\/li><li>The closest mention is in Article\n126 which deals with the appointment of an acting CJI.In the absence of a\nconstitutional provision,the procedure relies on custom and convention.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is\nthe convention?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When the incumbent CJI retires\n(all Supreme Court judges retire at the age of 65), the senior most judge in\nthe SC becomes the CJI. <\/li><li>But Seniority is not defined by\nage but by the number of years an individual has been serving as a judge of the\napec court.<\/li><li>However this convention has been\nbroken twice.In 1973,Justice A. N.
