Centre<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Union minister of Women and Child Development has informed Lok Sabha\nabout the One Stop Centre scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nOne stop Centre scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>One Stop Centre(OSC) are centres\nestablished by the Government of India through the Ministry of Women and Child\nDevelopment (MWCD) to support women affected by violence of any sort. <\/li><li>The main objectives of the scheme\nis to provide support and assistance to women affected by violence at private\nor at any public place, irrespective of caste, class, religion among others.<\/li><li>These centres will provide\nimmediate access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological\nand counselling support to the victims.<\/li><li>The scheme is funded through\nNirbhaya Fund and the central government provides 100% financial assistance to\nthe state governments \/Union Territories administrations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\ninformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nNirbhaya fund:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Nirbhaya fund scheme seeks to\nsupport initiatives by the government and NGOs working towards protecting the\ndignity and ensuring the safety of women in India.<\/li><li>The fund was set up in 2013 in the\naftermath of the gruesome gang-rape and murder in Delhi.<\/li><li>The key schemes under the fund\nincludes (a)Emergency Response Support System (b)Central Victim Compensation\nFund (c)Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (d)One Stop Scheme\n(e)Mahila Police Volunteer and (f)Universalisation of Women Helpline Scheme.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/newsite\/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=194918\"><strong>Household\nsocial consumption in India: Health NSS 75th round<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The National Statistical Office(NSO), Ministry of Statistics and\nProgramme Implementation has conducted the survey on Household Social\nConsumption related to Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nthe survey:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The survey was conducted between\nJuly 2017 and June 2018.It was a part of the 75th round of National Sample\nSurvey.<\/li><li>The main objective of the survey\nwas to gather basic quantitative information on the health sector namely on\nmorbidity, profile of ailments including their treatment, role of government\nand private facilities in providing healthcare, expenditure on medicines among\nothers.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key\ntakeaways from the survey:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The survey has found that 14% of\nthe rural population and 19% of the urban population had health expenditure\ncoverage.<\/li><li>However,only 1% of urban population\nreceived health insurance from government health protection schemes.<\/li><li>In both rural and urban India,\naround 95% of ailments were treated by allopathy.<\/li><li>Average medical expenditure per\nhospitalisation case (excluding childbirth) in rural India is about Rs.16,676\nand Rs.26,475 in urban India.<\/li><li>In rural areas about 90%\nchildbirths were institutional (in Government or private hospitals) and in\nurban areas it was about 96%.<\/li><li>The immunisation among children\naged 0-5 years is about 59% of boys and 60% of girls at all-India level.They\nhad been fully immunised which means they have received all the prescribed\nvaccinations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\ninformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nNSO:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The National\nStatisticalOffice(NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation\n(MOSPI), Government of India, was established in 1950.<\/li><li>NSO is headed by a Director\nGeneral.It has been conducting nation-wide large scale sample surveys,\nemploying scientific sampling methods to collect data on diverse economic\naspects.<\/li><li>Recently,Government had proposed\nthe merger of the National Sample Survey Office(NSSO) and Central Statistics\nOffice (CSO) under National Statistical Office(NSO).<\/li><li>The objective of the merger is to\nstreamline and strengthen the present nodal functions of the ministry and to\nbring in more synergy by integrating its administrative functions within the\nministry.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/cities\/Kochi\/india-japan-hold-mine-counter-measure-exercise\/article30064613.ece\"><strong>Mine\nCountermeasure Exercise-first time between India and Japan<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The Indian Naval Forces and the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force\n(JMSDF) has conducted the first Mine Countermeasure Exercise(MINEX) at\nKochi,Kerala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nthe exercise:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Mine Countermeasure\nExercise(MINEX) is an annual exercise between India and Japan.<\/li><li>This is the first time an\nexplosive ordnance disposal and mine countermeasure exercise was held by Indian\nand Japanese forces.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\ninformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other\nexercises between India and Japan:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>JIMEX- It is a bilateral maritime\nexercise between India and Japan.<\/li><li>Exercise Malabar\u2013 It is a\ntrilateral naval exercise involving the United States, Japan and India as\npermanent partners.<\/li><li>Sahayog-Kaijin \u2013 It is a joint\nbilateral exercise between Indian Coast Guard and the Japan Coast Guard.<\/li><li>Exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN- It is an\nannual joint military exercise between Indian and Japan since 2018.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a cattle\nfrom India after India submitted lumpy skin disease virus in cattle to the\nWorld Organization of Animal Health(OIE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About\nLumpy Skin disease:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lumpy Skin disease is an\ninfectious disease in cattle that reduces milk production, causes infertility,\npoor growth and chronic debility. <\/li><li>The disease is caused by the virus\nPoxviridae.
