However, it also observed that the foreign funding pipeline could be cut if an organisation took recourse to these forms of protest to score a political goal.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The verdict came on a petition filed by Indian Social Action Forum (INSAF) challenging certain provisions of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010 and the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Rules of 2011, both of which confer the Centre with \u201cunguided and uncanalised power\u201d to brand organisations \u2018political\u2019 and shut down their access to foreign funds.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/todays-paper\/tp-opinion\/making-the-environment-conducive-for-justice\/article31005676.ece\">Making the environment conducive for justice<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The article highlights the importance of judiciary during a riot situation. In December 2019, the Ministry of External Affairs decided to include Madagascar, Comoros and Reunion as part of the IOR (Indian Ocean Region) desk along with Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles. Subsequently, they have been incorporated into one single division under the additional Secretary (Indo-Pacific) Neena Malhotra.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The IOC is also significant for its geographical location, as the islands sit around a \u201ckey choke-point\u201d in the Indian Ocean \u2014 the Mozambique Channel.
