Aimed at establishing <b>Munda<\/b>\u00a0Raj or\u00a0<b>Munda<\/b> rule in this region, revolt came to be known as The <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">U<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lgulan or<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cthe Great Tumult\u201d.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reason of revolt<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">:\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In 1874, the British replaced the traditional\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">K<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">huntkari<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">system<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0of Munda\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">tribals<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0by the zamindari system. The introduction of zamindari system created the classes of zamindars (landlords) and ryots (tenants).\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Following the monetisation of economy, the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">tribals<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0had to depend on cash for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">paying the rent and for meeting their daily needs.
