One common agreement between\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Gandhism<\/span><\/span> and Marxism is the final goal of stateless and classless society, whereas means to achieve these final goals differ.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For Marx, State is an instrument of oppression<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and an organ of the bourgeoisie that only works for maintaining the class dominance. Therefore, he strives for class struggle and revolution which will ultimately result in a stateless society.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For Gandhi also, in an ideal state, there is no State<\/span><\/b>. In his words \u201cpolitical power means capacity to regulate national life through national representatives. If national life becomes so perfect as to become self-regulated, no representation becomes necessary. There is then a state of enlightened anarchy. In such a state everyone is his own ruler. He rules himself in such a manner that is never a hindrance to his neighbour.
