These are the ideals that the State should keep in mind while formulating policies and enacting laws.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Constitution lays down certain\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Directive Principles of State Policy<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, which though\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">not justiciable<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, are &#8216;<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">fundamental in governance of the country<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8216;, and it is the duty of the State to apply these principles in making laws<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and policies<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Article 37<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0of the Constitution states that the provisions contained in this Part (IV) shall not be enforceable by any court, but the principles therein laid down are nevertheless fundamental in the governance of the country and it shall be the duty of the State to apply these principles in making laws. Hence, they impose a moral obligation on the state authorities for their application.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Limitations of Part IV of the Indian Constitution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>No Legal Force:<\/strong>\u00a0The DPSP are non-justiciable in nature i.e. they are not legally enforceable by the courts for their violation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Constitutional Conflict:<\/strong>\u00a0DPSP leads to constitutional conflict between Centre and states, Centre and President, Chief Minister and governor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conflict with Fundamental rights:<\/strong>\u00a0They can be amended to implement the fundamental rights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Constitutional validity:\u00a0<\/strong>A law cannot be struck down by courts for violating DPSP.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) is enshrined in Part-IV (Article 36 to 51) of the constitution.\u00a0It guarantees social and economic democracy and tries to establish a welfare state.
