It comprises of the USA, India, Japan and Australia.<\/p>\n<p>It is rooted in the formation of \u201ccore group\u201d, in response to Tsunami in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>The idea was first mooted by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2007. However, the idea couldn\u2019t move ahead with Australia pulling out of it, apparently due to Chinese pressure.<\/p>\n<p>The Quadrilateral coalition was refurbished as \u2018QUAD 2.0\u2019 in 2017 on the lines of ASEAN Summit.
