What is SVAMITVA scheme?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas)\u00a0scheme is a collaborative effort of the\u00a0Ministry of Panchayati Raj, State Panchayati Raj Departments, State Revenue Departments and\u00a0Survey of India.<\/p>\n

Aim – <\/strong>To provide an\u00a0integrated property validation\u00a0solution for rural India for\u00a0setting the boundaries of the rural lands and also provides the record of right to village household owners.<\/p>\n

  1. It is a scheme for\u00a0mapping\u00a0the land parcels in rural inhabited areas using\u00a0drone technology\u00a0and\u00a0Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) and prepares GIS based maps for each village.<\/li>\n
  2. Implementation<\/strong>– The mapping will be done across the country in a\u00a0phase-wise\u00a0manner over a period of four years – from 2020 to 2024.<\/li>\n
  3. After physical verification and dispute resolution, property cards or Sampatti patrak will be made available on digital platforms or as hard copies to the village household owners.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Technology used<\/strong>– The Survey of India will use technology for topographical mapping, including satellite imageries and drone platforms.<\/p>\n

    What are the advantages of digital mapping?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Digital mapping will help raise rural productivity and incomes in various ways-

    1. Smoother implication<\/strong>– The digitization of agricultural land records has contributed to the smooth implementation of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Fasal Bima Yojana and Rythu Bnadhu.<\/li>\n
    2. Tax collection<\/strong>– The database will help in determination of property tax, which would accrue to the Gram Panchayats directly in states where they are empowered to collect such taxes.\n
