The 3<\/span>rd<\/span>\u00a0decade of the 21<\/span>st<\/span>\u00a0century will witness\u00a0a multipolar world<\/strong>\u00a0and the rise of\u00a0<\/span>this\u00a0<\/span>New World Order\u00a0<\/span>will be\u00a0<\/span>driven by\u00a0reliability of partners,\u00a0national interest,\u00a0and economic<\/strong>\u00a0factors<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

New developments are being witnessed with the development of vaccines. Nations are forging alliances for the vaccine supplies.\u00a0<\/span>Trust factor<\/strong>\u00a0will also dominate these alliances as seen in the doubts raised over vaccines by China and Russia and\u00a0<\/span>this factor<\/span>\u00a0will not be limited to vaccines only.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although security interest will continue to drive partnerships, it will not be the sole criterion as seen in the\u00a0<\/span>Israel and Arabs relations and BREXIT<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the gated globalization framework?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gated globalization advocates selective trade policies with selective trade partners<\/strong>\u00a0like creating walls with restrictive gates, opened on certain conditions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Gated Globalisation framework\u00a0<\/span>doesn\u2019t have a place for \u201cNon-alignment\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and will be a\u00a0test of \u201cstrategic autonomy\u201d of India<\/strong>. As p<\/span>er the framework, India needs<\/span>\u00a0Solid boundaries but building new partnerships (like the Quad) based on trust and common interests is equally important<\/span>, as necessitated by\u00a0<\/span>Doklam<\/span>\u00a0and Ladakh clash with China<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
