{"id":75328,"date":"2021-01-05T10:33:59","date_gmt":"2021-01-05T05:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=75328"},"modified":"2021-01-05T14:56:24","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T09:26:24","slug":"national-medicinal-plants-board-launches-consortia-of-medicinal-plants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-medicinal-plants-board-launches-consortia-of-medicinal-plants\/","title":{"rendered":"National Medicinal Plants Board launches consortia of medicinal plants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:\u00a0<\/strong>National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH has launched a Consortia of Medicinal Plants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Why was the NMPB Consortium launched?\u00a0<\/strong>The NMPB Consortia aims to address\/deliberate on the following issues: Quality planting material, Research &amp; Development, Cultivation and Trade of medicinal plants\/market linkage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Medicinal Plant Species Covered:\u00a0<\/strong>In the first phase NMPB consortia is proposed for following medicinal plant species:\n<ul>\n<li>Ashwagandha (Withaniasomnifera)<\/li>\n<li>Pippali(Piper longum)<\/li>\n<li>Aonla (Phyllanthus Emblica)<\/li>\n<li>Guggulu (Commiphorawightii)<\/li>\n<li>Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seed to Shelf Approach:\u00a0<\/strong>To establish the linkage between the farmers and manufacturers, a \u2018Seed to Shelf\u2019 approach is also being introduced. Wherein, aspects related to Quality Planting Materials(QPM), Good Agricultural Practices(GAP\u2019s), Good Post Harvest Practices (GPHP\u2019s) would be addressed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Medicinal Plants Board(NMPB):\u00a0<\/strong>It was established in 2000 under the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga &amp; Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha &amp; Homoeopathy).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:\u00a0<\/strong>Its main objective is the development of the medicinal plants sector through developing a strong coordination between various ministries\/ departments\/ organizations for implementation of policies \/ programs on medicinal plants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1684142\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Article source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:\u00a0National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH has launched a Consortia of Medicinal Plants.
