{"id":76255,"date":"2021-01-11T14:46:47","date_gmt":"2021-01-11T09:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=76255"},"modified":"2021-01-13T11:20:52","modified_gmt":"2021-01-13T05:50:52","slug":"national-investment-and-infrastructure-fundniif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-investment-and-infrastructure-fundniif\/","title":{"rendered":"National Investment and Infrastructure Fund(NIIF)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Union Finance minister has chaired the governing council meeting of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund(NIIF).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About NIIF:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NIIF is India\u2019s first sovereign wealth fund set up by the government of India in 2015.It is a fund manager that invests in infrastructure and related sectors in India.<\/li>\n<li>It was created with the objective to maximise economic impact especially by infrastructure investment in commercially viable projects.<\/li>\n<li>The Indian government has a 49% stake in NIIF with the rest held by foreign and domestic investors.<\/li>\n<li>NIIF currently manages three funds each with its distinctive investment mandate. The funds are registered as Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About the three funds:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Master Fund:<\/strong>The Master Fund is an infrastructure fund with the objective of primarily investing in operating assets in the core infrastructure sectors such as roads, ports, airports, power etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funds of Funds<\/strong>:Fund of Funds anchor and\/or invest in funds managed by fund managers who have good track records in infrastructure and associated sectors in India.Some of the sectors of focus include Green Infrastructure, Mid-Income &amp; Affordable Housing, Infrastructure services and allied sectors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strategic Investment Fund<\/strong>:Strategic Investment Fund is registered as an Alternative Investment Fund II under SEBI in India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Union Finance minister has chaired the governing council meeting of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund(NIIF).
