It also has an international presence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is the purpose of this study?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The judgments of the different courts negatively impact major infrastructure projects. These decisions don\u2019t adequately consider their economic fallout \u2014 in terms of loss of jobs and revenue.<\/li>\n<li>Hence, this study aims to sensitize the judiciary on the economic impact of their decisions. The findings will also be used as a training input for judges of commercial courts, NGT, HCs, SCs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What will the study examine?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The study will examine five major projects that are impacted by judicial decisions of the Supreme Court or the National Green Tribunal.<\/li>\n<li>For that, It will interview people who have been affected by the closure of the projects, environmental campaigners, experts, and assessing the business impact of the closure.<\/li>\n<li>The five projects to be analyzed include:\n<ol>\n<li>Stay on the construction of an airport in Mopa, Goa;<\/li>\n<li>Ending of iron ore mining in Goa.<\/li>\n<li>Shutting down of the Sterlite copper plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.<\/li>\n<li>Suspension of sand mining operations in Uttar Pradesh<\/li>\n<li>Stopping of construction activities in the National Capital Region.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/niti-aayog-study-to-track-economic-impact-of-green-judgements\/article33770515.ece\"><strong>The Hindu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
