The WHO is a specialized\nagency of the United Nations that is concerned with international public health<\/li><li>The WHO has stated that physical inactivity is identified\nas the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality. Physical Inactivity has\nmajor implications for the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and\nthe general health of the world population. <\/li><li>Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is a\nnon-infectious health condition that tend to be of long duration. They are the\nresult of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental and behaviours\nfactors. Modifiable behaviours, such as tobacco use, physical inactivity,\nunhealthy diet and the harmful use of alcohol, increase the risk of NCDs.<\/li><li>The WHO has prescribed adults between the ages\nof 18 to 64 to a) do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic\nphysical activity throughout the week, or b) do at least 75 minutes of\nvigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity throughout the week, or c) an\nequivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity.<\/li><li>The WHO has also noted that physical activity has\npsychological benefits.
