The study was conducted in Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Meghalaya by different voluntary organisations under the banner of Lam- Lynti Chittara Neralu (LCN)<\/li><li>There has been a rise in demand for shelters among LGBTQI community who had faced opposition and societal discrimination after coming out open about their homosexuality post Supreme Court Judgement.<\/li><li>In September 2018, the Supreme Court had decriminalised same-sex relationships in India by partially striking down the provisions of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Section 377 criminalised voluntary carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal.
