He has suggested restaurants to donate excess food and turn wet\nwaste into compost. <\/li>
  2. Food wastage is a major concern in India where\nmillions are subjected to poverty, hunger and malnutrition. The UN estimates that\nnearly 40% of the food produced in India is wasted or lost. Food wastage\nhappens at every stage\u2014 from harvesting, transporting and processing to\npackaging and consuming.<\/li>
  3. Union Health Minister has also acknowledged the Eat\nRight Movement’ of FSSAI. The movement was launched in 2018. It is built on two\nbroad pillars of \u2018Eat Healthy\u2019 and \u2018Eat Safe\u2019.<\/li>
  4. The movement is a collaborative move with\nstakeholders\u2014on both the demand and supply side\u2014coming together. On the demand\nside, the movement focuses on empowering citizens to make right food choices. <\/li>
  5. On the supply side, it has encouraged food\nindustry to reformulate their products (voluntarily reduce salt, sugar and\nsaturated fat in packaged food products), provide better nutritional\ninformation to consumers and make investments in healthy food.<\/li><\/ol>\n
