  1. The Union Labour and Employment Ministry has\nexpressed concern over violations of child labour rules in film and television\nindustry.<\/li>
  2. It has also urged the Ministry of Information\nand Broadcasting to ensure strict compliance by the industry with the norms on\nworking conditions for children. Further, it has said that mandatory\ndisclaimers should be presented when children appear on screen.<\/li>
  3. Child Labour is prohibited in India under the Child\nLabour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986 (amended in 2016) and Child\nLabour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2017.<\/li>
  4. Under the Child Labour (Prohibition and\nRegulation) Amendment Rules, 2017, child artistes are supposed to work for a\nmaximum of five hours a day and not more than three hours without rest.<\/li>
  5. The rules also require permission from the\nDistrict Magistrate and an undertaking by the producer. It also states that one\nperson each should be deployed for ensuring the safety and security of a\nmaximum of five children<\/li>
  6. It also states that children should not be away\nfrom schooling for more than 27 days. Further the rule mandates 20% of their\nincome to be deposited in a fixed deposit in their name<\/li>
  7. The Rules further mentions that if a child was\ninvolved in filming, the film should include a disclaimer saying that all\nmeasures were taken to ensure that no abuse, neglect or exploitation of the\nchild took place during shooting.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
