The\nratio is 1:1456 as compared with the World Health Organisation standards of\n1:1000.<\/li><li>Further, the distribution of health workers is\nuneven between urban and rural areas. According to a study based on NSSO data, rural\nareas with nearly 71% of India\u2019s population have only 36% of health workers.\nDelhi has the highest concentration of health workers followed by Kerala,\nPunjab, and Haryana.<\/li><li>Recently, a WHO database has put India into the\n\u201ccritical shortage of healthcare providers\u201d category.
