The fund will be operating Rajasthan\u2019s\nSocial Justice and Empowerment Department<\/li><li>The fund will be used to finance a comprehensive\npolicy on Pneumoconiosis, recently released by the Rajasthan government.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Pneumoconiosis:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pneumoconiosis is the general term for a class of interstitial lung diseases (the tissue and space around the alveoli) where inhalation of dust has caused interstitial fibrosis.<\/li><li>It is occupational health disease and mostly affects workers who work in the mining and construction sectors.<\/li><li>Depending upon the type of dust, the disease is given different names:<ul><li>Coal worker\u2019s pneumoconiosis (also known as miner&#8217;s lung, black lung or anthracosis) \u2014 coal, carbon<\/li><li>Asbestosis \u2014 asbestos<\/li><li>Silicosis (also known as &#8220;grinder&#8217;s disease&#8221;) &#8211; silica dust.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>District Mineral\nFoundation (DMF):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is a trust set up as a non-profit body, in\nthose districts affected by the mining works. It works for the interest and\nbenefit of persons and areas affected by mining related operations. <\/li><li>It is funded through the contributions from\nminers.<\/li><li>Its manner of operation comes under the\njurisdiction of the relevant State Government.<\/li><li>Setting up of District Mineral Foundations\n(DMFs) in all districts in the country affected by mining related operations\nwas mandated through the Mines and Minerals (Development &amp; Regulation)\nAmendment Act, (MMDRA) 2015<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Rajasthan has announced the creation of a Pneumoconiosis Fund.
