An Extended Service Area lies between primary service area and area enclosed by the rectangle from Latitude 30\u00b0South to 50\u00b0 North, Longitude 30\u00b0East to 130\u00b0East.<\/li><li><strong>Types of Services: <\/strong><ul><li><em>Standard Positioning Service (SPS):<\/em> It will be provided to all the users.<\/li><li><em>Restricted Service (RS):<\/em> It is an encrypted service which will be provided only to the authorised users (military and security agencies).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>The space segment consists of the IRNSS constellation of <strong>eight satellites, NavIC (Navigation<\/strong> <strong>in Indian Constellation). <\/strong><\/li><li>Three satellites are located in suitable orbital slots in the geostationary orbit and the remaining four are located in geosynchronous orbits with the required inclination and equatorial crossings in two different planes.<\/li><li><strong>Some applications of IRNSS are:<\/strong><ul><li>Terrestrial, Aerial and Marine Navigation<\/li><li>Disaster Management<\/li><li>Vehicle tracking and fleet management<\/li><li>Integration with mobile phones<\/li><li>Precise Timing<\/li><li>Mapping and Geodetic data capture<\/li><li>Terrestrial navigation aid for hikers and travellers<\/li><li>Visual and voice navigation for drivers.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Antrix:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Antrix Corporation Limited (ACL), Bengaluru is\none of the commercial arm of ISRO. The other commercial arm of ISRO is the recently\nestablished NewSpace India Ltd.<\/li><li>ACL is a wholly owned Government of India\nCompany under the administrative control of the Department of Space, Ministry\nof Science and Technology.<\/li><li>It was incorporated as a private limited company\nowned by Government of India in 1992 as a Marketing arm of ISRO.<\/li><li>The objective of Antrix is promotion and\ncommercial exploitation of space products, technical consultancy services and\ntransfer of technologies developed by ISRO. Another major objective is to\nfacilitate development of space related industrial capabilities in India.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Geosynchronous orbit:\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is a path around the Earth where the orbital period matches the Earth\u2019s rotation period. This path is in high Earth orbit (as it is placed at an altitude of 35790 km) . Telecommunications and other remote sensing satellites are placed in this orbit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Geostationary Orbit\n(GSO): <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is a geosynchronous orbit with an inclination\nof zero, i.e. it lies on the same plane as that of the equator. It lies 35,786\nkm above earth\u2019s equator. <\/li><li>A satellite in this orbit appears to be stationary\nas seen from the earth. The geostationary satellite remains at the same\nposition throughout the day.
