PSLV-C47 is the 21st flight of PSLV in &#8216;XL&#8217; configuration (with 6 solid\nstrap-on motors).<\/li><li>PSLV-C47\nwould also carry 13 commercial nano satellites from United States of America as\npart of commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), Department\nof Space<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Cartosat-3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cartosat-3 satellite is a third-generation agile\nadvanced satellite having high-resolution imaging capability. <\/li><li>Cartosat-3 is a more improved version from the\nprevious Cartosat series with advanced features such as adaptive optics,\nacousto optical devices, in-orbit focusing using MEMs and large area-light\nweight mirrors and advanced sense with a high-quality resolution.<\/li><li>Potential uses of the Cartosat-3 satellite\ninclude weather mapping, cartography or army defence, and strategic\napplications.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sun synchronous Orbits: <\/strong>These are polar orbits are synchronous with the Sun. Thus, it passes over\nthe same part of the earth at the same time of the day.&nbsp; A satellite in a sun synchronous orbit are\nusually at an altitude of between 600 and 800 km. Weather monitoring and spy\nsatellites are usually placed in this orbit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is an\nindigenously-developed expendable launch system of the ISRO. It is the first\nIndian launch vehicle to be equipped with liquid stages.<\/li><li>It comes\nin the category of medium-lift launchers with a reach up to various orbits,\nincluding the Geo Synchronous Transfer Orbit, Lower Earth Orbit, and Polar Sun\nSynchronous Orbit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Space India Limited (NSIL):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It was set up in March 2019.
