{"id":85709,"date":"2020-05-11T17:09:03","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T11:39:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=15335"},"modified":"2021-02-27T16:53:57","modified_gmt":"2021-02-27T11:23:57","slug":"ndma-issues-guidelines-for-restarting-manufacturing-units","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ndma-issues-guidelines-for-restarting-manufacturing-units\/","title":{"rendered":"NDMA issues guidelines for restarting manufacturing units"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA) has issued guidelines for restarting manufacturing and chemical industries after the lockdown period ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Features of Guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Test Run Period: <\/strong>The first week of restarting any machinery or chemical unit should be considered as the trial or test period and the industries should not try to achieve high production targets.<\/li><li><strong>Safety Audit:<\/strong> Carry out a complete Safety Audit of the entire unit before taking up starting activities such as cleaning of pipelines, equipment and discharge line.<\/li><li><strong>24-hour sanitisation: <\/strong>The employers should provide hand sanitizers, masks, face protection shields and ensure 24-hour sanitisation of the factory premises.The staff should also be educated on COVID-19 related measures.<\/li><li><strong>Physical distancing measures: <\/strong>Create physical barriers to ensure the physical distance within the work floor and dining facilities.<\/li><li><strong>Working in shifts:<\/strong> Managerial and administrative staff should work one shift at 33% capacity and factories that work 24 hours should consider one hour gap between shifts except factories\/plants requiring continuous operations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is the apex statutory body setup under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.<\/li><li><strong>Parent Ministry: <\/strong>Ministry of Home Affairs<\/li><li><strong>Chairman: <\/strong>Prime minister<\/li><li><strong>Functions:<\/strong><ul><li>coordinate response to natural or man-made disasters and for capacity-building in disaster resiliency and crisis response<\/li><li>lay down policies, plans and guidelines for Disaster Management to ensure timely and effective response to disasters.<\/li><li>Provide support to other countries affected by major disasters as may be determined by the Central Government among others.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA) has issued guidelines for restarting manufacturing and chemical industries after the lockdown period ends.
