India\u2019s gold holding increased from 607 tonnes in January to 608.7 tonnes\nin February. Gold holding is a central banks\u2019 total holding of gold as a\npercentage of their foreign exchange reserves.<\/li><li>Early in March, a recent report by World Gold\nCouncil had ranked India 11th in terms of gold holding. Among countries, India\nranked 10<sup>th<\/sup> in terms of gold holding. USA ranked first followed by\nGermany, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Italy and France.<\/li><li>Among Asian countries, Mainland China (7) and\nJapan (9) ranked better than India. Pakistan ranked 45<sup>th<\/sup> while Sri\nLanka and Bangladesh ranked 63<sup>rd<\/sup> and 66<sup>th<\/sup> respectively. <\/li><li>The World Gold Council is the market development\norganisation for the gold industry.
