{"id":86494,"date":"2020-03-24T14:51:27","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T09:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=14420"},"modified":"2020-03-24T14:51:27","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T09:21:27","slug":"extradition-treaty-between-india-and-belgium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/extradition-treaty-between-india-and-belgium\/","title":{"rendered":"Extradition Treaty between India and Belgium"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the signing and ratifying of the Extradition Treaty between India and Belgium.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Obligation to Extradite: <\/strong>Each Party agrees to extradite a person accused\/convicted of an extraditable offence in the territory of the other Party.<\/li><li><strong>Extraditable Offences<\/strong>: an offence punishable under the laws of both the Parties with imprisonment for a period of one year or more.<\/li><li><strong>Grounds for Refusal Under the Treaty: <\/strong>a) The offence involved is a political offence b) The offence is a military offence and c) The request for prosecution has been made on account of his race, sex, religion, nationality or political opinion.<\/li><li><strong>Extradition of Nationals:<\/strong>Extradition of nationals is discretionary.
