It can be blended with conventional ATF and\nused as aircraft fuel. Biofuel that can be used as jet-fuel can be prepared\nusing animal fat, vegetable oil and agricultural waste.<\/li><li>Biofuel is\na fuel that is produced from biomass\u2014i.e. plant or algae material or animal\nwaste. It is considered to be a source of renewable energy, unlike fossil fuels\nsuch as petroleum, coal, and natural gas.<\/li><li>The\nattempt to convert cooking oil into Bio-ATF is in coherence with the Food\nSafety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)\u2019s Repurpose Cooking Oil (RUCO)\ninitiative. The initiative seeks to collect and convert used cooking oil into\nbio-fuel<\/li><li>In 2018,\nSpiceJet had operated a Bombardier Q-400 aircraft powered by a blend of bio-jet\nfuel and conventional ATF on a flight between Dehradun and Delhi. This\nwas India\u2019s first ever bio-jet fuel flight.
