  3. The World Day to Combat Desertification and\nDrought is observed every year since 1995. In 1994, the United Nations General\nAssembly declared June 17 the “World Day to Combat Desertification and\nDrought”.<\/li>
  4. The day aims to promote public awareness of\ninternational efforts to combat desertification. It seeks to remind people that\nland degradation neutrality is achievable through problem-solving, strong\ncommunity involvement and co-operation at all levels.<\/li>
