{"id":86973,"date":"2019-09-17T15:36:29","date_gmt":"2019-09-17T10:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=10206"},"modified":"2019-09-17T15:36:29","modified_gmt":"2019-09-17T10:06:29","slug":"indias-cooling-action-planicap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/indias-cooling-action-planicap\/","title":{"rendered":"India\u2019s Cooling Action Plan(ICAP)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>India\u2019s Cooling Action Plan(ICAP) has been appreciated internationally by the United Nations(UN) on World Ozone Day.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About ICAP:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>India Cooling Action Plan (ICAP) was launched in 2019 the Union Minister for Ministry for Environment, Forest &amp; Climate Change<\/li><li>The goal of ICAP is to provide sustainable cooling and thermal comfort for all while securing environmental &amp; socio-economic benefits for the society<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Provide an integrated approach towards cooling and related areas including reduction in the cooling demand, in order to reduce emissions.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Assessment of cooling requirements across the sectors in the next 20 years and the associated refrigerant demand and energy use.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Map the technologies available to cater the cooling requirement including passive interventions, refrigerant-based technologies and alternative technologies such as not-in-kind technologies.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Providing skill training to RAC(Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) service technicians.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Develop an R&amp;D innovation ecosystem for indigenous development of alternative technologies.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Targets<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reducing cooling demand across sectors by 20-25% by 2037-38<\/li><li>Reduce refrigerant demand by 25-30%by 2037-38<\/li><li>Reduce cooling energy requirements by 25-40% by 2037-38<\/li><li>Recognize \u201ccooling &amp; related areas\u201d as a thrust areas of research under national S&amp;T program<\/li><li>Training &amp; certification of 100,000 servicing sector technicians by 2022-23, synergizing with Skill India Mission.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thermal comfort for all \u2013 provision for cooling for EWS and LIG housing.<\/li><li>Sustainable cooling \u2013 low greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions related to cooling.<\/li><li>Doubling Farmers Income \u2013 better cold chain infrastructure \u2013 better value of products to farmers, less wastage of produce.<\/li><li>Skilled workforce for better livelihoods and environmental protection.<\/li><li>Make in India \u2013 domestic manufacturing of air-conditioning and related cooling equipment.<\/li><li>Robust R&amp;D on alternative cooling technologies \u2013 to provide the push to innovation in a cooling sector.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:India\u2019s Cooling Action Plan(ICAP) has been appreciated internationally by the United Nations(UN) on World Ozone Day.
