This means that when antibiotics are used, less carbon\nis stored in the soil and more is lost to the atmosphere as CO2.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Rampant use of antibiotics in livestock animals\nand poultry is also a major cause of antibiotic resistance.<\/li><li>A 2017 global study on antibiotic use in farm\nanimals projected the consumption of antibiotics through animal sources to\nnearly double during 2013-2030.<\/li><li>The study had ranked India the fourth largest\nconsumer of antibiotics in food animals globally after China, the United States\nand Brazil.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: A recent study published in the journal Ecology Letters has assessed the environmental impact of antibiotic use in cows.
