{"id":87049,"date":"2019-12-01T16:20:31","date_gmt":"2019-12-01T10:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=12081"},"modified":"2019-12-01T16:20:31","modified_gmt":"2019-12-01T10:50:31","slug":"development-of-loktak-inland-waterways-project-in-manipur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/development-of-loktak-inland-waterways-project-in-manipur\/","title":{"rendered":"Development of Loktak Inland Waterways Project in Manipur"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The Ministry of Shipping have given approval for the development of Loktak Inland Waterways improvement project in Manipur.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Project:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The project will develop the Inland water transport connectivity in North East States and give a boost to the tourism sector.<\/li><li>The project is approved under the Central Sector Scheme(CSS).<\/li><li>The project will be implemented under the Ministry of Shipping.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Loktak lake:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Loktak lake is the largest freshwater lake in North east located at Moirang in Manipur.<\/li><li>The lake is famous for its phumdis floating over it which are formed naturally.<\/li><li>Phumdis are the floating mass of entangled vegetation formed by the accumulation of organic debris and biomass with soil.<\/li><li>Keibul Lamjao National Park which is the only floating National Park in the world is located on the Loktak Lake.<\/li><li>The sangai deer which is an endemic and endangered subspecies of brow-antlered deer is found only in the Keibul Lamjao National Park, Manipur.<\/li><li>The species is listed as Endangered(EN) in IUCN Red list.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The Ministry of Shipping have given approval for the development of Loktak Inland Waterways improvement project in Manipur.
