{"id":87063,"date":"2019-12-10T15:25:57","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T09:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=12273"},"modified":"2019-12-10T15:25:57","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T09:55:57","slug":"initiatives-to-promote-environmental-awareness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/initiatives-to-promote-environmental-awareness\/","title":{"rendered":"Initiatives to promote environmental awareness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Ministry of Environment, Forest &amp; Climate Change has informed Rajya Sabha about the initiatives to promote environmental awareness and to mobilize people\u2019s participation for conservation of environment.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Green Good Deeds Campaign:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has launched Green Good Deeds campaign.<\/li><li>The purpose of the people-oriented campaign is to sensitise people and students in particular about climate change and global warming.<\/li><li>The objective of the campaign is to restore and return the clean and green environment to the next generation.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Environment Education, Awareness &amp; Training (EEAT) Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Environment Education, Awareness and Training (EEAT) is central sector scheme of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&amp;CC).It was launched during the financial year 1983-84.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The scheme aims to (a)promote environmental awareness among all sections of society (b)spread environment education and (c)mobilize student\u2019s participation for environmental conservation.<\/li><li>The scheme comprises of three programmes namely 1) National Green Corps \u201cEco- club\u201d programme 2) National Nature Camping programme and 3) Capacity Building Activities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About National Green Corps (NGC)\u201cEco-club\u201d programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The programme aims at creating awareness among school and college students for environmental conservation and sustainable development across the country.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It also aims to sensitise and nurture students on nature conservation leading towards positive environmental actions at different levels.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Students of schools and colleges across the country are eligible to participate in the programme.<\/li><li>Under the programme,Eco-club will be setup across schools and colleges which will be headed by the Principal or their nominee.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About National Nature Camping Programme (NNCP)&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Nature Camping Programme aims to provide students an opportunity to learn about natural resources, ecosystem services and the importance of the area by involving them in activities<\/li><li>Under this programme,nature camps will be organised in different protected areas or Nature parks of the country to create awareness amongst school\/college students on environment and nature.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Capacity Building Activities&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The objective of this programme is to support capacity building activities and to impart skills to students and teachers of Eco-club on various thematic areas like Biodiversity conservation, Waste Management among others.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Ministry of Environment, Forest &amp; Climate Change has informed Rajya Sabha about the initiatives to promote environmental awareness and to mobilize people\u2019s participation for conservation of environment.
